It’s hard to believe that summer is in full swing! I’m sure your air conditioning system has been up and running for some time now. How is the system working for you? Does it give you adequate relief from the heat, or do you always feel uncomfortably warm and sticky? Do you feel some portions of your home are warmer or cooler than others? Is the air that comes out of your vents not as cool as it used to be? Don’t settle for sub-par home comfort! There are solutions to each and every one of these problems. Better comfort begins with your yearly spring maintenance.
Following the first hot weekend, a technician can anticipate numerous, “I have no cooling!” service calls. Most of them are minor items: Capacitors, low refrigerant, dirty air filters and an occasional stink bug! One of my first calls of the cooling season was, ironically enough, my sister! Her air conditioner had stopped working suddenly, and when I went to check her system, I noticed a few castaways inside the electrical compartment of her air conditioner. There were the normal spiders, ladybugs and a very unfortunate stink bug who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He had managed to wedge himself into the only area where he could be harmed by electricity. The only way to identify the carcass was by the shape of the burn marks and by dental records…
To reduce the possibility of having this particularly “stinky” problem, or any home comfort problem mentioned in this article, I recommend having your system checked by one of RSC’s highly skilled (and nationally certified) technicians(Rest assured that we’re also trained in stink bug removal).
Sincerely,
Chuck Garrett, Service Manager
