At RSC Heating & Air Conditioning we’ve installed hundreds of geothermal HVAC systems in our thirty-five years of business.
We have the experience, expertise, and know-how to come out to your home, evaluate your current HVAC system, and plan for a geothermal home system upgrade. We’ll work with you through every step of the process so that you’re informed from our first evaluation until your new geothermal system is first turned on.
Geothermal systems are one of the best long-term investments you can make in your home. If you plan on staying in your current home for more than ten years a geothermal system will reliably reduce your energy cost for each month for years. Geothermal HVAC operating costs can be up to 70% cheaper than traditional forced-air systems.
Geothermal installation pipes are typically rated for at least 100 years of use, and the systems have significantly fewer breakdowns and replacements than traditional heating and cooling systems. Geothermal energy systems are also eligible for the green energy home tax rebate refunding you up to $2000 in installation costs.
RSC Heating & Air Conditioning will ensure that your system is eligible for all home energy tax rebates possible, and can even help you identify more ways you can save on green home energy upgrades.
As a fourteen-time Carrier Presidential Award winner, RSC Heating & Air Conditioning is proud to be able to offer 60 months of 0% interest financing for Carrier geothermal installations in cooperation with Wells Fargo’s Carrier Credit Card.
Carrier has numerous geothermal heat pump options including the Carrier Infinity, Performance, Comfort, Infinity Split System, and Performance Water-to-Water all of which will provide energy and utility savings for many years.
While you may expect such a durable system to require a lengthy and complicated installation process, the truth is that geothermal systems are on average installed in three weeks or less. We’ve outlined a project timeline below for you to have an idea of what you can expect when installing a geothermal system with RSC Heating & Air Conditioning.
If you call us at 717-299-3914 and request a Geothermal evaluation we can typically schedule your consultation visit within one business day.
RSC Heating and Air Conditioning owner and company president Steve Beeler will come out to personally inspect your current HVAC system and determine what type of geothermal system will best suit the long-term comfort needs of your home and family.
After the visit, Steve will provide you with a project appraisal and price estimate to upgrade your home to a geothermal HVAC system. It will also detail your eligible tax rebate savings.
Some installations require no permits, while others may require multiple due to potential neighborhood property laws or ordinances.
At their fastest, permits take a week or less, and the majority of necessary project permits are issued in less than two weeks. We have years of experience handling these permit applications and are knowledgeable about the necessary forms.
Pennsylvania’s one-call system is designed so that with one call you can schedule the necessary services to have any underground plumbing, gas pipes, or electrical lines marked to ensure excavation crews work safely and efficiently without damaging any of your home underground resource lines.
Typically Pennsylvania One Call service workers can be out to mark your underground lines within one week of your call. They operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and in 2023 they had over one million work location requests.
The well-driller and break-filler work together over three days to bore holes into the ground for your geothermal loops and then ensure those boreholes are sealed for efficient heat transfer and protection against water contamination. Their work sets the foundation and durability for your geothermal heat pump’s performance.
Once the loops have been established most geothermal HVAC units are successfully installed and run for the first time within a single appointment. Geothermal heat pump units do not require an outdoor unit like traditional systems and are placed indoors, they’re also much quieter as they operate.
A new geothermal installation is typically finished with 4 working days on-site, and an additional week to two weeks of waiting time for necessary permits, paperwork, or groundmarking.
In less than a month’s time you can reap the benefits of home energy savings for many years.
After installation, your first maintenance appointment for your new geothermal system should occur after a year of use. Regular maintenance will ensure your system continues to run at optimal efficiency continuing to save you on home energy costs all throughout the year.
RSC Heating and Air Conditioning is proud to have installed premium green energy geothermal heat pumps throughout the Susquehanna Valley.
